Matt Carter is an author of Horror, Sci-Fi, and Young Adult fiction, though he likes to dabble in a little bit of everything. Truth be told he finds the term "author" a bit limiting, preferring to think of himself as the writing equivalent of a mad scientist. Working in his darkened laboratory, his only light the occasional sparks from his machinery or the crack of lightning, bubbling beakers and jars full of unspeakable abominations on the shelves behind him, he lives for finding well-worn stories and genres, chopping them to pieces and finding ways to sew them back together into something new and different and maybe just a little bit twisted yet still entertaining. Along with his wife, frequent co-author and partner in crime, F.J.R. Titchenell, he lives in the usually sunny town of San Gabriel, CA.
In addition to the ongoing Prospero Chronicles series being written with F.J.R. Titchenell, Matt is keeping very busy. His first solo novel, NA superhero dark comedy After School Special, was published by Talos Press in 2016. He and F.J.R. Titchenell have have also pubished their deconstructive, YA horror comedy novel Agent Ingénue vs. The Lord of Terror. Matt's latest is Bennytown. It is a different take on a classic alien invasion story, People of Earth!
